Keerthanna Jothiraman, the driving force behind Gaandharva Kshethram Performing Arts, embarked on her dance journey at the tender age of 5, starting with Bharatanatyam. However, it was at the age of 8 that she was introduced to the enchanting world of Kuchipudi by the Late Guru Smt. Chitti Durga Devi. Smt. Durga Devi, a senior disciple of Guru Vempati Chinna Sathyam and director of Nartana Dance School, played a pivotal role in shaping Keerthanna’s artistic path.
Under the able mentorship of Acharya Dr. Sathyapriya, Keerthanna has been exploring the nuances of Kuchipudi, focusing on both the art and abhinaya. She has showcased her talent in various dance dramas such as Gangavatharanam, Sri Krishna Parijatham, Shivoham, and more. With over two decades of experience in performing Kuchipudi, Keerthanna has earned prestigious titles, including ‘NATYA KALA POORNA’ and ‘SWARNA MAYURI,’ acknowledging her mastery in this classical dance form.
In addition to her prowess in dance, Keerthanna is an ‘A’ graded artist of Chennai Doordarshan. Her multifaceted talent extends to Carnatic vocal music. Her profound knowledge of music serves as a strong foundation for her choreography, creating a harmonious fusion of melody and rhythm in her dance compositions.
Devoting to musical education under the guidance of Sri Paramakudi Ravindran, a disciple of Acharya Choodamani Sri. A. Sundaresan, Keerthanna seamlessly intertwines her musical and dance expertise. Her journey is marked by numerous competition victories and accolades from across India, establishing her as a distinguished artist in the realm of Kuchipudi and Carnatic music.
