Your Key Responsibilities Our Urban Planning Intern must be eager to learn all facets of planning and development and be willing to help our professional team bring projects from concept to deliverable; this includes everything in between. Knowledge of local planning processes and codes, comprehensive planning, land development activities, site design considerations, and economic indicators are a plus. Must be comfortable working with clients and members of the community/public in a variety of settings from formal public hearings to listening sessions. The candidate must have exceptional writing skills and be savvy with emerging technology. Qualifications Your Capabilities and Credentials Experience with zoning ordinances, comprehensive and long-range plans, either writing or administering. Excellent quantitative, writing, computer, and technical skills, including ArcGIS, modeling, and the Adobe Suite Self-motivated and passionate about planning and equity Strong time management, critical thinking, and organizational skills The ability to work with others, as well as independently Education and Experience Applicants should be a current student or recent graduate of an accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent in Architecture, Planning, Urban Design, or related field. Typical office environment working with computers. Some travel may be required (add in expected travel %), such as delivering plans or documents to reviewing agencies or clients or to attend meetings. May occasionally visit study areas, construction sites and/or be exposed to outside elements and inclement weather conditions.
